What You Need To Know About Working Online
We previously looked at the three main reasons why most digital marketers fail. And here’s those reasons again:
Information overload
Self-sabotage
Lack of experience
Now you’re probably figuring out by now that we’re going to talk about how to overcome each of those problems. But that’s not necessary right now. Instead, we’re going to look at 2 steps you can start using TODAY to grow, build, and profit in your online marketing career.
First off, ask yourself if you’ve got a clear, actionable strategy plan in place. If you haven’t yet started making money online, then if this is just one thing that you will achieve today, make sure you pay close attention to what we’re about to share. You see, it’s all well and good telling yourself you’ll launch a new blog, promote yourself on freelancing websites or find clients in your local area.
But unless you’ve got a detailed action-plan, you’ve got nothing to follow. Which brings us to step #1.
1. Creating A Plan For YOU
A clear, well-structured and detailed plan means you stop worrying about what you could be doing and instead focusing on what you should be doing. It doesn’t need to be super-complex. But make it detailed enough so you have a good idea of what you’re going to be trying to achieve each day.
Here’s what we’ve found the top marketers include in their action plans:
*Set weekly & monthly schedules
*Allocate time to research your market and industry
*Set yourself milestones
*Create SPECIFIC goals (for example: ‘Write blog post Monday between 11am-1pm’)
*Give yourself time to focus on learning. *Read blogs, browse forums, and reach out to fellow marketers
Now they’re just a few of the things you can include. Try to create your plan so your life becomes as easy as possible. It’s all about knowing what you want to do, so when it comes to it, you CAN do it.
IMPORTANT: Try to create this plan BEFORE you start any new project. By putting it together as early as possible you allowing yourself to approach tasks in a non-rushed approach, as well as ensuring everything is planned correctly. So now let’s look at the second step.
2. Managing Your Time
Time management is something nearly all entrepreneurs struggle with. Whether it’s hitting deadlines, sticking to timeframes, or defeating procrastination, using your time wisely can have a massive impact on the speed it takes for you to be successful.
While there’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution, one of the best ways of managing time is to have a reliable outline of all the tasks you want to achieve in your day. (See how it ties with step 1?) Split your working day up into manageable chunks, and make sure to take regular breaks. It might seem like there’s a never-ending stream of work for you to do. and we’re not advocating putting everything off.
Keeping in mind, if you're not allowing your body to refresh:
*Your productivity will decrease
*You'll find yourself unproductive and frustrated
*You run the risk of burning out
Some marketers work an hour, then have a 15-minute break. Others work for a half-hour, then take 5 minutes off. It’s all about finding what works for YOU, and building your daily routine around your preferences.
Take some time figuring out what works best for you, and once you’ve got a more-defined structure in place. and you manage to stick to that plan. You’re going to start seeing success a LOT quicker.
Now we’ve covered some of the reasons why marketers fail. and some of the most effective ways of overcoming these failures.
In two days time from today, we’re going to look at what type of online business you should start and guaranteed ways of making steady income from blogging.
Whether you want to be a freelancer, an affiliate marketer, or blog writer, it’s important to realize each industry requires different skills. Figuring out which is best for YOU is incredibly important, as it means you’ll have more passion for your work and allowing yourself to make more money, in less time.
