Twitter, a popular social media platform has announced two big upcoming features: the ability for users to charge their followers for extra content; and the ability to create and also to join groups based around particular interests. These are the two of the more substantial changes to Twitter in coming weeks.
The payment feature which Twitter named as "Super Follows", will allow Twitter users to charge followers and give them access to extra contents which could be in form of bonus tweets, access to a community group, subscription to a newsletter, or a badge. Twitter showed an example where a user charges $4.99 per month to receive a series of perks.
This is a way Twitter is letting creators and publishers get paid directly by their fans/followers.

Many online platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and GitHub have all launched direct creator payment features. Twitter is currently coming out to take their cut also.
Twitter also announced a new feature - "Communities". This is particularly similar to Facebook Groups. Anyone can create and join groups about a specific interests — such as Dog, Dogecoin, Politics, etc. People in the group will be tweeting topics about the group interest.
Twitter however, did not announce timeline yet for when either of these features will launch. Twitter listed them as “what’s next” for its platform during a presentation for analysts and investors two days ago.
